I recently receieved a used V400 and the only thing wrong is the fact that it will not let me inside the phone book. It goes in for a second and then kicks me back out. I've tired master reset and master clear. Any ideas?

Also the numbers on my simcard (the short second im in the phonebook) do not show up. however I know they're there because I have another C1 phone in which they show up on.

Try deleting the two .db files in the phones audio folder (using a p2k program) and restarting the phone

Thanks for the suggestion, but I do not have a data cable yet, but when I get one I will try that. I also found something else out. When you receieve a call and you can press the call button and it will bring up a list of numbers that you've called/have called if I goto one of those numbers and "store" it to the phone. It will give me an error saying "Sim card is full, using phone memory" but I know for a fact that my simcard is not full. Also if you change storage location when you entering the persons details from phone to sim, it crashes the screen back to the main menu. So I don't know if this is a firmware/file issue or it not reading the simcard correctly or what. I've also tried my friends simcards and it does the same thing. However I can dial/receive and everything else works except the phone book icon_sad.gif

I would be tempted to flash a monsterpack from http://www.motox.info/showthread.php?p=19259#post19259

Sorry to sound dumb here, but this would be the first time I've flashed a phone, I'm use to flashing my PSP a bunch so I'm not totally new to the risks and benefits but I need to know the basics and where do obtain a datacable.

Its the same cable as a PSP I believe - it certainly is for most motorolas - but I don't know the v400 specifically

Take a look in the tutorial section and the flash/flexing section for how to get programs connected and how to flash
