When I bought my new razor phone last August, I was told I would get my $120 rebate within 90 days. When it did come, it came in the form of 2 separate, hard to use debit cards. There is a list of 8 different do's and don'ts associated with the use of these rebates, including don't use them for gas, don't ask for money back, use your cash first, the card last.etc. I dropped them in my purse where they laid till today. I tried to activate them and was told I only had until December, 2006, then the "funds are considered invalid". Wow! When I asked for an address to write to corporate for a reasoning behind this I was denied the information and told to go to the website, which is as helpful as a toothache.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did it get rectified?
Thanks for your assistance.

well if you notice on the card they do have an experation date, like all prepaide gift/credit cards, there is an 800 # on the back of the card that goes to the company that issues them

Seems some people would rather be critical of the victim than critical of the giant conglomerate who stole the $120 in the first place. Once they mailed the card(s) to me I had one month to use them. Had the situation been turned around, and they were to be paid within one month and I decided to renig, how do you think they would react? Since this has happened, I have found 8 more people in my town with the same problem. What's up with that?

$120?
Cingular never has a rebate for an odd amount of $120

What phones did you get?
Sounds to me that you're trying to scam.

Ok, heres the facts:

They have an experation, and they're not a month after you get them, they vary, but not a month.

They're like debit cards, you can use them anywhere, I've never seen these dos and donts

They mail you 2 $50 rebate cards

It takes about 12 weeks to get them, if it takes longer, take it up with Young America, the Rebate center, something got messed up there and you recieved your rebate later than normal, if you explain to them, you'll more than likely get a rep happy to help you.

why would Cingular . a "giant conglomerate " as you put it need to take a measly 120 rebate from someone, in less than the amount of time it took for me to replay to this post Cingular has made more than $120.00. and what is Cingular gong to do with a couple of prepaid gift/credit cards? You cant cash them out. oh, oh I know, Stan Sigmond is using them to go to the batting cages, and for go carts. icon_squint.gif icon_squint.gif icon_squint.gif

$120.00 sounds like Amazon or Wirefly to me.

I know some states have laws for gift cards. I was able to use an borders card that I had in my wallet for 2 years. Cards aren't supposed to be able to expire. not sure about refunds though. That is seriously the most stupid way I've heard of to refund. I was promised a refund, that to the average person means cash or check. Not a debit card.
