The caller id on my 3 recently purchased L6 phones will not show contact names. Nor will a personalised ring tone for a contact ring. I have called Motorola several times and get a different answer each time. The manual shows how to activate but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Have you saved the contacts to phone menu?
You may need to edit SEEM 0032_0001 offset 3E - bit 4: for purposes of linking name in phonebook with caller ID number, xxx-xxxx = xxx-xxx-xxxx = 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx = +1-xxx-xxx-xxxx (0 on, 1 off)

After lengthy discussion with Motorola Tech, it was determined that the phones are imports.

Mikekay,
Do you know of a solution for this. I read your first post and it is too technical for me. I am open for any instructions and directions for this. Motorola, nor Cingular has a solution.
Thnaks.

Take a look at the tutorial section and the seem editing guide, chances are the SEEM edit above will fix it.
If not I would probably look for a Cingular flex and flash that

Can you send me a link to this editor please. I have searched and cannot find it. In the first post from you, you gave some instruction. I did not understand what you was telling me or how to navigate to those commands. Any help you can give is greatly appricated.
Thanks.
