I purchased a motorola rizr which works in the US (GSM 1900 i believe), and I love it. Its nifty to say the least, but two weeks after my purchase, I realized that I couldnt make text messages, even though I could receive them. I also realized that I could not make conference calls or put people on hold. Has anyone else encountered any of these deficiencies in this cellular phone? I would appreciate your assistence in this endeavor.
Thanks

For SMS messages check your SMS service centre number
For the conference calls and on hold, you need multiple lines from your carrier - do you have this?

Call cust support and find what your SMS service centre number should be (its in text message setup) it should start with a +

I can get the phone tools to install on my computer but it doesnt recognize my phone through the USB. I have the RIZR V3. It recognized it once and almost got through the upload process and then it quit and acted like it never saw it. anybody have any suggestions?. I have already done the live update
yes, for some reason it doesn't recognize it properly, on the comp click the menu button on the screen then setup>general setup> then connections>change modem click Motorola GSM> then use the E398, then MPT will recognize it.
