well congrats on paying your bills what’s next do you want credit for taking care of your children, if you read your T&C again it states cingular dose NOT guarantee service everywhere , as far as your location the map you posted shows thre is coverage, unfortunately due to the terrain its not pristine coverage but its coverage none the less

For the record, YES! I have been having the exact same problems.
This is my recent experience:
I live in Las vegas, Henderson actually. I am using a Motorola Sliver (L7). The phone is THE BEST I have ever owned (been through at least half a dozen others) - very satisfied with my 'client-side' hardware.
I initiated my service with Cingular about two years ago FOR CAUSE, because I had absolutely HAD IT with Sprint.
Cingular was a breath of proverbial fresh air in all respects: signal coverage, call quality (all aspects) and customer service all superior.
HOWEVER, since the advent of AT&T (to the day!), I am faced with the following:
1. DROPPED CALLS - I experience more dropped calls in a single day than I had the ENTIRE previous Cingular period combined.
2. FAILED CALLS (initiated by me) - ditto
3. FAILED texts (initiated by me) - ditto
4. FAILED CALLS (initiated by someone trying to reach me) - not sure of the exact extent this occurance, but apparently not infrequent. this NEVER happened with Cingular
5. FAILED texts (initiated by someone trying to reach me) - ditto
6A. CALL QUALITY (specifically audio) - atrocious, it really REALLY sucks! I can't hear what people are saying, and they can't hear me. Static, drop-outs, you name it. I used to have my handset volume at 4 of 7, now I am maxed out at 7 and it gives no help.
6B. SIGNAL COVERAGE- abismal, 'apparently' I can't get a good signal ANYWHERE. Actually, it is unclear to me the technical relationship (correlation vs. causation) between this and call quality - is the poor audio quality, dropped calls, etc a direct result of ubiquetous week signal, or am I getting a strong signal that delivers extemely poor audio/network performance? This I do not know, but I seriously suspect the latter as I have a cell tower fairly close by.
And finally, the clincher: each month when I speak with customer service and let them know what's going on, and that I have no intension of paying the usual bill amount for dramatically eroded service (I mean, who would, its absurd!), they don't even hesitate and immediately offer to cut my bill IN HALF (typically from $50+ to $30-ish, total - essentially a $25 credit)! What self-respecting company does this, or would allow such a condition to persist? They don't even hem-and-haw with me about it.
I am thinking that perhaps a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT might get their attention and motivate them to bring their sorry technical house in order.
So say I - this has been my experience with AT&CrappyService.
Anyone else care to validate? Any ATTORNEYS out there reading this and experiencing the same? I for one do NOT appreciate being treated like a hapless sucker - it kind of pisses me off.
OK that's it -- steve b

Uh
Cingular = at&t
Same company. Nothing changed besides the NAME. Yeah, it sucks you get dropped calls poor service, sadly enough, unless we actually troubleshoot this (ie, getting you a new sim card, trying another phone, checking your area, etc) you can't really complain, I find it REALLY hard to believe that "no one knows what's going on" if they haven't troubleshot. Call this number 800-801-8011 - that is the warranty center, and they can do full extensive troubleshooting for you.
Though it does suck you couldn't sue even if you believed you did have a good case.
