Is anyone in the Washington DC Cingular (AT&T) market experiencing problems with incoming callers not being able to hear you when you answer? It seems to have started when the change from Cingular to AT&T took place. When receiving calls (no matter if the incoming call is from a landline or any other mobile carrier) the person at the other end can't hear me but I can hear them. I can tell when this is happening because I can hear an echo of myself in my earpiece. It is an intermittent problem (about 50% of the time) that is independent of location, phone (I have several different phones and have tried all of them with the same results) and signal strength. I have spoken to a couple of other Cingular subs who are experiencing the problem. I reported the problem to Cingular but don't know how much action they will take if I am one of the only subscribers to report the problem.

Elmo,
Thanks for the reply. I use a Nokia 6102i, a Samsung d407, and a Motorola Razr. None of them are more than a year old. I have a family plan with 4 total on the plan and each of us are having the same problem.

the change has nothing to do with it , nothing has changed with the company except the name, as i will eplaing in the equation
Cingular is/was onwed by SBC and Bell South
SBC buys At&t(landline) - changes name to At&t
At&t and Bell South merge to become At&t.
for the sake of a unified company Cinguler now the new At&t will eventualy change its name to some sort of At&t.
So absolutly nothing to do with the name change merger or buyout of At&t landline has anything to do with you service, and never will.
Could be a network issue , infact it probably is a tower issue in your area if all the phones are having the same problem. call customer service when you have as many phones in your possession as possible but NOT from any of the phone.

given the variety of phone with the same issue its gotta be the network.
considering the weather in the Northeast of late I would figger that is the cause
