if the AIM software is used its the same as using a chat program on your PC.the charges go to data. so if you use AIM or something similar. have a data package.or its data charges. six of one. a half a dozen of the other

Elmo, after going to that site you mentioned to download AIM, there is no where in there where I can see "download". I see AIM pages, AOL mail and other links but nothing like "download". It takes me to wap.aol.com/portal. Could you please help me?

Actually Elmo, is this the software where you have to pay $19.99 or something like that?
Thanks again!

I dont message. so I didnt fully follow the links I had been assuming that an applet would dload
upon foillowing the links I founds several methods.pending the way you wanna do it and the capability of the phone
Through your Phone's Web Browser (messages count on your DATA plan)
http://mobile1.aol.com/mobileaim/browser
Software Preinstalled on your Phone (not sure some one try it and post back... but it looks like data)
http://mobile1.aol.com/mobileaim/installed
Forward IMs to your Cell Phone (this way counts as text mesaging)

IM to Mobile (home PC to AIM)

Elmo, for grins I have tried using all the links that you have posted before, and they all end up taking you to the AOL Portal Page. None of the links on that page take you to where you can sign onto AIM. You can get to AIM Mail, but not AIM.
After doing my own searching though I have found a link that will take you to the AIM Mobile Login. I just don't recall how I got to it. After I found it via Google on the phone, I bookmarked it, but if I try to go directly to the address, w/o going through MEdia Net, the link will not work. The link I found is http://win2.aol.com Do you happen to know why I can not get to it directly?
