Remove 'GSM phone service icon' on Sidekick 3

man i am very mad that i cant seem to find out how to get rid of this icon so i can get ride of the problem. the icon is shaped like a phone. the manual says that the icon mean the phone is GSM phone service. what does that mean. how can i fix it? i cant sign on aim or gain access to the internet ,, wtf man. sigh sigh. help me.

Your sidekick is in phone only mode. Have you added the sidekick unlimited data plan to your account? Are you in an area with data access?

i have the plan with the unlimited internet access and text messaging. my phone was workin fine when i got it a week ago but for the past two days the icon has appear and i cant seem to do anything but make calls.

Do a soft reset (hold down @+1+zero). If that does nothing call tmobile and check for a tower outage.

thanks, but i went to the shop where i got my phone at and they told me that it couldnt be fix and it was my sims card that was the problem. that my sims are was defected. so i turned off my phone and then i took out the sims card and put it all back in and turned on my phone and it was working again. today that same thing happened. so i think im better off going and getting a new sims card then haveing the same thing happen again. Oh yea by the way, i just got my sk3 and i have no idea how to use it and if here is any kool sites that you can give me?

i forget the site name but go to google and type in sidekick tips and tricks theres tonz out there.

no defiantly not that but they do have some but google is your best friend when it comes to tricking out your phone.
