I've created a few MP3 and WAV ringtones using the dbPowerAmp converter tool. Both are in the correct 8000K, 8bit, 1 Mono format. Some I can get to load, others act like they load but then dies with a communication error to the phone.
I can e-mail my tones to you to test. I want to find out if these files are good or if it's something wrong I'm doing. The phone I'm loading them on is a friends and has 7mg of available space. thanks for the help. I'll make my e-mail public in my profile, just drop me an e-mail. thanks >>TROY <<
I have trimmed an mp3 to less than 20 sec, its at 32 bitrate, mono and has been moved from my card to the phone memory. My new 2009 i580 phone plays it perfectly. But I'm given no option anywhere to make it a ringtone can someone pleeeeese solve this one?

There is no way to do it. Sprint/Nextel has restricted it. The only way is to pay for theirs. They are just sucking $$$ from ya. Their tones are horrible and cost too much. I wish I had a way to hack in to the phone. But I'm not smart enough. It's a waste of time I called motorola and sprint both have nothing to make tones.
