Hi.
I've had a Motorola Razr V3 for a couple of weeks; the carrier is T-Mobile. This morning I noticed an icon I hadn't seen before, and I haven't had any luck researching it on my own.
It looks a bit like a picture of binoculars - two circles on the same horizontal line, connected by a horizontal line on top of them. It appears on the top line of all screens: the outside screen, home screen, submenus, etc., a little bit to the left of the icon indicating the ring-style. If I were counting "icon spaces" from the right side of the screen, it would be: battery, ring-style, empty space, unknown icon.
Can anyone tell me what this means? Thanks.

Is it the standard V3 - what the s/w version?
If it is take a look at page 29 and 30 of http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/manuals/V3_9501A42A.pdf

As far as I know, it's the standard V3. It's identical to the one photographed in this review: http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/motorola_razr_v3_review. The pages in the manual you posted (which is far more complete than the one that came with my phone) were interesting, but didn't have a picture of the mystery icon.
It's in position "7" (messages) shown on page 28 of the manual, but the illustration doesn't correspond to my icon, and there's nothing in the messages menu that's new.
I don't know what "s/w version" means.

Look in the phone status menu and post the s/w version. Usually you can also type *#9999#
From the description I wonder if it could be a voicemail alert?

The S/W Version is: R3443U2_G_OE.CO.15R. Could you explain what that means, please? Is "s/w" software? According to the software update menu, my phone's software is up to date.
It's not a voicemail alert. I don't have any voicemails I haven't heard, nor text messages I haven't read. I've seen the voicemail icon, and that's not it.

The manual for that doesn't show any different icons.
Can you install the p2k Drivers (see getting connected to p2k programs guide in tutorial section) then use MSnap to take a screenshot of the phone screen
Finally upload the picture to www.tinypic.com or similar and post it here

I had the same icon on my Razr v3i, but could not find a referance to it in the manual.
It finally disappeared after I checked my voicemail, and listend to 2 messages that were waiting.
