I currently have an LG VX8600 and have terrible reception. Was wondering what phones Verizon offers have the best reception. Thanks.

thats strange, b/c the VX8600 gets rave reviews in the signal and reception department. As far as phones w/good reception, the Samsung SCH A930 is a good choice, I have it, and often have service where my parents phones (MOTO Razrs) dont. its a little thicker than the 8600, but not too hefty. also, it has the default VZW theme, and cant switch to a flash menu like the 8600. but the menu is pretty zippy.

14092. The area I live in doesn't have very good reception, but I have friends with verizon that get better reception with cheaper phones.

I wonder if there's any correlation with the phone's RF transmission levels. The VX8600's maximum SAR level is rated at 0.68, whereas the SCH-a930's max SAR level is rated at 1.42. Theoretically speaking, the latter should perform better in spotty areas (while possibly being worse for one's health.)
I just bought the VX8600 for my wife, and the SCH-a930 for myself. So far, they're both working well. (Pittsburgh, PA)

well another thing with the 8600, it's got an internal antenna. sounds like you need a different lg, possibly the 8300. or if you wanna go with a different brand a motorola v325i, it's got an extendable antenna.

Yes, the benefit fo the V325i would be the trimode for those areas still analog. Otherwise the intennas are getting better as time goes on, just make sure when you're holding the phone your hand isn't covering where it's located. They sell signal enhancers, but I don't know how well those work.
