hi all,
Today, I got a call from Bob
me: {give standard greeting, request mobile #}
caller: Hi, I'm Bob, my rep id is *****. The # we're working with today is ###-###-####. I'm trying to give the customer a credit but my Kic is frozen. Can you help me?
me: {noticing that the number he is trying to credit just happens also to be the same # he's calling FROM.unusual for vesta agents} Hi, Bob, I'll be glad to assist you with this. My I have your last name please?
caller: Hailey {i had to get him to spell it.that's the spelling he gave me}
me: Okay, Bob, let me make sure I understand. We're working with telephone number: ###-###-####. You are trying to credit the account, but your kic is frozen, is that right {trying not to laugh in his face as no one who has kic would give out a rep id.plus, this guy called the guy next to me yesterday}
caller: yes. I'm in the payment center in Miami. Boy, kic sure has been down a lot lately, hasn't it? {well, he got that last part right}
me: I suppose so. Can I get you to bear with me for a few moments while I verify your rep id?
caller: yes.
me: ok. thanks. {i pull up CWEB and enter the vesta id.it is valid but for some OTHER name.it also has a fraud warning indicating it is not to be used for credit-and-activation purposes. we're not doing a CnA so i assume it's a valid vesta id} Bob?
Caller: yes.
me: Yes. your rep id does check out but under a different name. Do you know that other name?
caller: no. I just started working a few weeks ago.
me: okay. well i will need you to provide me the name associated with the rep id.
caller: would you like to talk to my supervisor?
me: {a sup has answered my signal} um.no, not yet, first may i put you on hold, i need to double check something? {no response} may i put you on hold? {no response.but i put him on hold anyways and inform sup.call drops}
Be on the look-out for "Bob".he changes the last name frequently. He calls in posing as a store agent or a vesta rep.
He knows just enough to fool himself. A rep calling from the phone he wants to credit giving out a vesta rep id while stating his kic is frozen
sad thing is he's sucessfully gotten a few credits like this.

the notes on this acct show this guy calls in freq with a diff name always posing as an agent and always trying to give the customer (i.e., himself) a credit
social engineers want info.not money.
