Anyways I have a 6133. It doesn't play mp3's as ringtones, let me send text messages to email, browse the internet etc. A lot of features are 'locked' on this phone.
My question to you guys is, how should I go about getting the unlock code. I read somewhere else that I can just call T-Mobile and they are very friendly about giving out unlock codes. So I decided to call them about 20 minutes ago and got some blonde on the phone. She had no idea what I was talking about and left me kind of confused about the whole deal.
I went to unlocktotalk dot com and bought an unlock code (which they havent gave me yet) and I don't even know if its the right one. It claims it unlocks "T-mobile"
heres a link
w w w unlocktotalk dot com
(it wont let me add a link on my first post)
I am wondering if I should go through T-Mobile to get the code, or should I just wait on unlocktotalk for the code I purchased @ $35.00
unlocking will not help you have to change the software if you do you loose the myfaves though

Don't use the code they provide. It will not be correct. Only T-mobile is able to generate a code for that model. Call them and tell them you are traveling outside the Country and you need an unlock code. They will put in a request and e-mail you one in a day or two.
As far as unlocking the features: Check www.iunlock.com. It's worth the money. Check the reviews.

Okay I did that last night and they said they are giving me a simunlock code. But will that get rid of the problems that I stated previously about the phone? As far as I know it will only allow me to put different sim cards into the phone from different carriers

That's correct. You need to get the phone flashed with decustomized firmware to unlock the features of the phone.

if I buy the ca-53 cable for it and put the newest firmware on my phone from nokiausa.com, will it get rid of the restrictions?
