Hi!
I just bought a new supposedly unlocked motorola v66 over ebay to travel to New Zealand. Looks like the phone was originally from T-mobile since it still has logos on it.
I wanted to make sure it worked, so I charged the thing and put my friend's sim card from T-mobile in the phone to see if it worked, but the phone just keeps asking to insert a sim card.
I followed the instruction manual closely to install the sim card.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is the phone just not unlocked?
Thanks a lot

sounds like there's a hardware problem with the phone, try a different sim and see if it works.

Check the connections are all good. Sometimes jamming a fold of paper behind the SIM to increase pressure against the contacts helps

I already tried two different sim cards from T-mobile.
And I tried putting a little pressure on the sim card to try to make better connections but that didn't work either.
You think it would worth it to try a sim from a different service provider?
Or is the phone just messed up?
Thanks.
