Hi,
SD and MMC cards are basically the same physical size. The Nokia 3650 uses MMC cards, which are only available in sizes up to 128megs, but SD cards are available up to 512megs. The cost of a 128meg MMC card is = 256meg SD card @ about $60-$70. I have read on the net that the SD cards are about .5mm thicker than MMC cards. I rather pick up an SD card with twice the space for the same price. SD cards are up to 4x faster in transfering data also, from what I have read.
So, question #1
Has anyone Successfully used an SD card in the Nokia 3650?
Question #2
Has anyone successfully used a Java based .mp3 player in the nokia 3650?
With a large 256meg SD card, it would be slick to play mp3s on the nokia 3650. Thanks for any assistance.
-Matt

I did more homework on my own and found out SD cards are 9 pin, and MMC cards are 7 pin. Since the phone has an MMC slot, I am stuck with an MMC card.

hi!
dunno if that works with sd!
can only point my infos about the mp3 player!
I use MP3GO!
It is a easy to use mp3 player which plays every mp3 in every quality!
it reads the normal directory and is able to create playlists!
so its good to have a huge mmc card for hearing good sounding mp3s!

Glad to hear that theres an MP3 player that works on the 3650 (I think Im about to buy one).
My questions are
a) whats the sound quality like?
b) can u tell the difference between 128 and 192 bps files? ie if i convert my mp3s to 128 bit I will fit more on the MMC
c) what are the standard headphones (buds?) like
d) can I use my own headphones?
cheers

Hello,
I'm not sure just how much thicker the SD cards are, but i was told by a compUSA employee, if you try and put one in, you will not be able to put in the battery, or close the back lid properly. i was just as excited to see the memory on those things as well.
