When text or picture messages are sent, the addresses sent to are added to the Recent Log. I cannot find a way to clear this Recent Log without doing a Custom Reset (2767*CUST#).

Surely there is a way to clear this Recent Log without blowing away the address book as well!

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sorry don't know how to help you with your phone. It sounds like to me that you are having the same problem that I am having with my SGH-T619 only mine is "RECENT RECIPIENT" list. when you put in that code does it affect anything else on the phone like does it delete all your ringtones and such or is it just the phonebook? Also how did you go about finding that code? Would it work for my phone as well? Too many questions I know. I checked with Samsung they said that the only way to go about deleting that list was to perform a FULL reset im guessing it would apply to your phone as well. please help. Thanks

The code for reset I got off this site - and I'm not sure if it'll work with your phone.

The "custom" reset cleared my address book, wallpaper settings, sound settings, but did not delete my photos or ringtones I had uploaded.

Using a cable and the Samsung software, before the reset I backed up my phonebook to Outlook (I create a seperate profile in Outlook for this). I was able to retrieve all my phonebook entries without error - even the notes and email addresses, etc.

I did have a slight problem when uploading - some of the address book entries restored as "PC" entries instead of "MS" (I think it was). I was able to "drag" the "PC" entries to the "MS" icon on the lower left of the screen, and it seemed to convert those to MS entries. Not sure of the difference between the two, by I think the MS entries are stored in the phone memory and the PC entries are stored elsewhere - the SIM card? I don't store anything on the SIM card - it's useless.

Overall it was a considerable effort and risk just to clear the Recent list. I have over 200 address book entries, I would have lost a lot of data if the upload had failed. Guess it all depends on how much you're willing to risk to avoid getting busted by your new girlfriend for sending a txt message to your old girlfriend. icon_smile.gif
