I work for Cingular and one of my big gripes are them commission hungry store reps that repeatedly butcher accounts and add stuff that the customer never wanted and also when they change the rate plan and don't make sure that you have a ft plan with one primary number and the rest set as secondary lines UGH its not hard to restructure an account using care seable or t elegance or maybe they do it just to get a higher commission and another thing y the hell do they keep telling customer o ya just call in and they will wave the upgrade fee or the activation fee OR never note that in the account i am told by my super unless its noted n the account by the rep no can do talk about pissed customers they have a right to be i work as a BEUC rep and i see so many probs from stores and kiosks

It is very hard to control those agents sadly. It's just part of daily life working with the company. I feel better when I remove those features, then those reps don't get their commission. Sweet taste in my mouth.

Hey, that's unfortunate that you feel this way. It is very hard to be a sales rep in a corporate store, especially when you are not "commission hungry." It is nice to get a hefty commission check but I haven't seen one of those in a long time. You see the reason that we have to push features so hard is because we are being pushed so hard. There is a quota on a wall. Every month that quota gets ridiculously harder to hit. And at the same time our commission for reaching these quotas lowers. We work harder every month but get paid less. And trust me, probably the one thing I have the hardest time with in my job is trying to talk people who don't want features into getting them. It takes a toll everyday. Now I do agree with you on condemning those who put features on without asking or having the customer agree to them. It's those people that are probably jacking up the quota. Your manager says "look, Mike can do it".well sort of. So I agree with you there, but please don't think we are all like that. It ain't easy.

What about the reps that always put on roadside and voicedial WITHOUT telling the customer? Or the ones who do a false churn by cancelling out a customers account and porting their number to a new account in the same company? that doesn't make much sense from what you told me. People like that should be reprimanded and possibly terminated. It is unfair to the customers and it is making the company lose money.

At least Cingular / AT & T is unionized, iirc

I like working for an authorized retailer #1 on the west coast in fact, the commission is better than cor stores from what I hear, and our quota isn't that difficult to hit, its Vab 2 and vab 3 we strive to hit.
