Hi. I just registered for this site today, because for the last 2 months I have been trying to unlock my razor. Unfortunately, it has been VERY unsuccessful. I haven't been able to do it. I have read many posts saying old fool is the guru when it comes to unlocking. Hence, this is my desperate call to you old fool, to help me. Please. Thanks a lot. icon_clover.gif icon_biggrin.gif

what you need is the subsidy code.
When you have the code, it's very simple to unlock the phone, all you have to do is insert a sim card from a different carrier then the one your phone is from, and then the phone will ask you for a code, enter the code and voila, your phone is unlocked
call 514 910 1587 jonathan
he does all the unlocking for me

Hmm, I've been reading much of the information regarding the various related issues pertaining to unlocking [the V3].

I currently have a V3 which was given to me by a family member who no longer wanted it. Had T-mobile on it. Apparently 8.26, so if I were to downgrade it, what benefits would I lose, if any? I guess that's one thing which is not very apparent on the forums (different version functionalities). Furthermore, would I even want to bother downgrading, other than it could be an interesting learning experience (hacking yet another phone), primarily since I heard that I might be able to just call up T-mobile (apparently the last service provider the phone was using), and allow them to magically supply me with the subsidy code? Would I have to provide them with any information?
Finally, on a somewhat unrelated topic, I noticed you mentioned you had pictures taken of some point tests performed on a phone, Old Fool, do you by any chance happen to have them still - I'd be interested in looking at them.

Alright, but any other information you could give regarding my aforementioned concerns, or comments?

Unless you have an account with Tmobile and more than 90 days you can not request for unlock code!.
If you family members still with Tmobile then yes ask them to get unlock codes for you. They will ask for fone model and IEMI# which could be found in the back of your fone after you remove the battery or type on *#06# for the 15 digits IEMI#

There is no real benefit to the 826 bootloader, infact the 7d0 bootloader allows you to mod the startup screen that seems to be the only difference

I might be having a similar problem. I have a t-mobile razr with a cingular SIM card. I got a 6 digit code from t-mobile (they gave it to me when I called).

However, when I put in the SIM card and turned on the phone, I got a screen asking for the subsidy password. I typed in the 6 digit code, but it didn't accept it. Any idea what I need to do now?

I'd really appreciate some advice!
