Hi I'm a t-mobile subscriber. I have a friend that has verizon. My problem and I'm wondering if anyone else can relate to this problem. I can send the verizon friend regular text messages, but not icon ones. either animated or just plain pictures like the ones already on the phone. Like a beer, birthday cake example but they never receive the pictures. I usally just send the icon, not any written message, cause I figure need I say more! A picture should do, right?. Has anyone else had this problem, not getting text (icon) from other networks?

I called t-mobile and they don't seem to know anything about this.

Most networks don't accept message with the icons/symbols/special fonts or colored text to other carriers. You should be able to send a picture message though, or multimedia message (MMS). But if you italicize the text, or select one of the smiley icons that come on the phone it won't show unless it's being sent to some one in your network.

Try going to vzwpix.com, and using the free messaging they have there. They have pictures you can use and enter text in if necessary and to send them it's no cost, except to maybe the receiver.
