My first post on this great site, hope I'm posting in the right spot. I saw the 02 XDA Flame and was wondering if I would be able to use this device in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area on Cingular's service?
Specs are: Phone type Triband
Networks GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900
Connectivity options 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/GSM, USB
I don't think that it's possible but thought I'd run it past the knowledge base here to make sure. If it's compatible with another service I might consider changing because I REALLY like this phone. Currently using a Dell X50V pda for work and want a converged device with a vga screen. Thanks!

I know the Cingular 8525 will work but it is just an ok device in comparison to the O2 XDA Flame. I really desire a larger VGA screen. Maybe someone could suggest an alternate phone?

You'll need a phone capable of operating on the 850 band. Cingular uses the 850 band, except, I think, in a few places (and something I've never understood is why almost all tri-band phones are missing the 850 band). Better call your local store or CS to find out if that phone will work in your location.

Thanks for confirming that for me. Is it possible that the Flame would be compatible with another service?

If I understand correctly, T-mobile uses GSM also and the service would be spotty if I were using the Flame?
