I was happily doing data entry for MCI when our center was bought out. Now I'm doing a job that I would never have applied for. (csr and tech) If I didn't have a mortgage I would have walked out with the other 50% of the people who left at the transition. I hate the unnatural things I have to say. Like if someone calls in to change their text pkg, I have to say "I know your time is valuable so I'll do this as quickly as I can." I don't like to call in for service and have someone say cheesy, fake statements to me. On one of the posts I saw my company's csr's described as a really polite mafia. Cracked me up! And then I get yelled at for policies that I don't even agree with and can't do a thing to change. Seems to me it's the people who make these policies who should have to field these calls.

heh heh heh…
I hear you on the patronizing, cheesy statement. Cingular is not toooo bad but we've got to say some, too.
i'd say most of our policies make sense at cingular, but there's a small handful I'd like to change.
who do you work for now?
(i applied, btw, i was not hijacked, and I fairly like my job)

we have to recognize their tenure at the close of the call, as they're slamming the phone down in our ear
