I let my friend use my phone on the way back from boston... and I think he fooled around with the security and the SIM PW menu... when he gave it back... it said SIM BLOCKED... enter PIN1 Unblock Code. I never had one, and when I tried the default one (0000), it didn't work. I'm guessing that Cingular changes it before they give it to you. Now what do I do and where do I get the Unblock code?

I know after you block the sim and keep trying more times (i think ten) the sim will basically self destruct. My question is. Is it trying ten times all together or if i turned off the phone and tried again would it count toward the earlier tries?
Thanks

if you turn it off and then on it WILL NOT count against your 10 time tries
to get your PUK code you will probably only need to know the phone number for this phone and the last 4 digits of the social security number for the primary account holder, that or if your account is password protected, a password
by the way, loaning your phone to a friend, that's a serious no-no, the potential for misuse/abuse is quite high
