Biggest step forward: a TFT screen that actually lets you read it in broad daylight.
Everything else: pretty much the same. I don't see enough reason to upgrade, especially since I've only had my T610 six weeks. I'll prolly wait til next Christmas when the P2000 or Z9999 or whatever fancy-schmancy model SE comes up with next is on the market.

It's not usually such a problem on a fairly cloudy but still sunny day. Usually I can just cup my other hand over the screen to cast a shadow and make the screen more readable.
But when you've got 100% pure overhead sunlight like here in the Philippines lately, the screen is IMPOSSIBLE to read. Really, it bothers me to no end that SE would put this kind of a screen on an otherwise awesome phone. I'm indoors usually, so I don't complain about this very often. But I do need to go out once in a while, and that's when this problem really bugs me.

You can decrease the contrast a little bit from the hidden menu of the T610. You will then be able to view the characters/images on the screen more clearly.

I know. But I'm a real stickler for detail, and I don't want to have to keep switching contrast everytime I step outside. I can live with this flaw, just cos the total package is so awesome.
And just cos I predict someone will now ask "What's the secret code?", it's the standard SE code of RIGHT, *, LEFT, LEFT, *, LEFT, * from the standby screen (the one that shows your operator logo, battery, signal, etc.) with the keypad unlocked.

By the way, the T630 has a meagre 2MB memory. It makes more sense to wait for a few more months and go in for the T650 which is supposed to rival the Jokia 6230

The formula is quite simple: the T630 is only for people who wanted to buy the T610, but didn't, due to its flaws. And a "new" model is also a great excuse to start selling an upgraded model of the T610 for a high price once again. Maybe the T650 will be accessible to handicapped persons, then the T651 will have Html browser etc. SE realized that they have been looking at the right place with the T610, the only problem is that they've made some flaws in the phone. But they could even use this problem to their advantage...

Case in point: Nokia's "big step forward" from the 7210 to the 7250. Or even earlier than that, the 8210 to the 8250. What these companies do realize is that phones are bought by a lot of people due to new cosmetics, with very few internal changes. It's all our own fault for being such sheep.

Nope, we aren't sheep. It's only the majority. But there's also a nice advantage in this for us too (for people who think of which phone to buy at least): we have a really large variety of phones -> there's a higher probability that we'll actually find a phone for ourselves, that fits all our needs.
