This phone is available online but will be available next Tuesday (Apr 17) I plan on getting it (even though I was interested in the SLVR). I would like to know your opinions if it's a good phone and what I should know about it. I know it is a 2.0 megapixel camera and a media player, but that's about it. And I'd love to speak to someone who works with Verizon on here to see if they will give me a discount for a 2gb micro SD card when I make my purchase at the store next week. Also, I am not purchasing with a plan, I'm just upgrading my phone, and it hasn't been two years yet.
Thanks for your help!

The VX8700 is nice, and has a nice brush metal outside look. Text messages cannot be read from the outside. It is mp3 capable, 2mp camera, 1 hour record video time (if memory allows), mobile web capable, slim light package with average battery life. If you read up about the RAZR Maxx Ve it also has the two megapixel camera, with a big outside screen and nice looks with touch sensitivity music controls. Even some picture cropping/editting options. You may receive a discount based on your history/pmt history/and cost per month bill, accessory discounts only if any. Fry's has 2gb cards for likely a good competitive price compared to VZW, and you can order from their website. Good luck

Thanks! I'm going to go with the LG VX8700 because I like the outside screen even though it's weird. And I don't like the touch sensitive media buttons. It's all about preferance. I didn't think about getting the microSD from Frys; I was going to get it for $87 from the SanDisk site! I'm paying half the price this way, you just saved me a lot of money. O_O I was also a little perplexed about the battery life, I'll take your word that it is average.
This is the perfect phone for me!

I got an VX8700 last week and it's a great phone. The metal case is very cool looking and it feels solidly built. MP3's sound great on it too. Make sure you get a quality headphone adapter (like the LG factory headset) because the one that comes with it sucks!
