It used to have AT&T as the service provider (but hasn't been used in a while).I want to use it abroad and think this should be possible (?).can someone tell me what to do? Thanks.

It is 3560. I'm having trouble getting the code (nothing came up with *#06#). There is a code on the battery:
Code 0510672SK10RI
I just did more research and it looks like the phone has AMPS and TDMA but not GSM.so I think it won't work abroad anyway? (don't really know what these things mean). I also have a Samsung SGH-x427m if you happen to know how to unlock that. Thank you!

Correct. You would need an unlocked GSM phone for travel.
