Okay so whenever i recieve a sound message or record one on my LG T81VZ04 it goes into my "My Sounds". Is it possible to get a sound from there and to set it as a ringtone? I would appreciate any help, thanks a lot.

I was able to do this with my old LG VX8000 phone but it looks like it is disabled on my VX8700. I'm looking for the same answer to your question as well.

I've found that if I send myself a Pix Message with a sound clip from My Sounds, once received it gives me the option to "Save as Ringtone" and "Save to My Sounds". This is for the LG VX8700 but it also worked on the LG Chocolate. Let me know if this works for your LG. You must send it as a Picture message and not Text Message.

no, when i send it to myself in a picture message, it does not give me that option. i can 'save picture' 'save sound' 'save quick text' but not an option for ringtone =-[

It works! Only thing is, the sound quality is very poor. It's not recording as loud as the already-made ringtones.

iv found that with LG's its a bit tough if you blue tooth or infrared to a computer and change the format to the same as the other ringtones (amr i think) and the blue tooth or irda back it may work. If you have the bits its worth a try

I just text messaged the sounds in MY Sounds in the Verizon LG VX8300 and saved them as ringtones and they sound great, clear and as loud as any of the other ringtones.

Thanks for the tip! Texting the sound to myself worked great! Finally, I can have the sound I wanted for my ringtone.
