Very new to all this, but I'm jumping in head first!
I picked up a used locked v3. Downgraded the boot loader and unlocked the phone. That worked great. But after spending a week reading and learning all I could here and elsewhere on the net, I decided I would flash the phone with a monster pack for fun.also to get rid of the carrier branding. The keypad is messed up now. I did the keypad fix flex many times and that didn't help. I have since reflashed with at least 6-8 different monster packs and each time also doing the keypad fix flex. But all that works correctly on the keypad is the red power/end call button and the 5. All other keys bring me to the web browser!
After thinking about it I really don't recall if the keys even worked properly from the start. A very bad newbie mistake on my part not checking out the functions before I attempted anything!
But I have now noticed that the white dot is RED! Water damage!
I have ordered a keypad flex cable and also an lcd flex cable.

Am I pointed in the right direction here? Is that the route you pro's would take? Replace a flex cable and retry? Which would you replace first?

My method of attack: Disassemble and check all connections. Replace the keypad/flex cable. See if it works. If not, redo the keypad fix flex. Next replace the lcd flex cable. Try everything again.

Any input here is greatly appreciated

Also since doing all of the above I can no longer get to the boot loader screen on the v3?
I am almost certain that the keypad problems will be fixed with the new keypad and flex cable.
But whats up with getting to the boot loader screen?
Thanks.
