Confirmed does NOT work on the Samsung SGH-T629. It appears I'm going to have to get the data cable.

So I decided to bail on this cable business it was driving me crazy. I found a friend who has T-Mobile popped their SIM in; called T-Mobile told them I wanted it unlocked they sent the code to my email within 24 hours. So you can remotely unlock this phone.

yup, if you are a T-mobile customer, you are in luck. just call their customer care service and provide the IMEI#. they will email you back with the unlock pin along with the instruction.
It worked great for me!

works with all t-series ( on some )
I know it works for the t- series
*2767*3855#
then
*7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
then
#7465625*638*00000000#
Please dont try this, *2767*3855# will reset your Samsung T-629 to its factory condition, and you will loose everything you might have on your CELL PHONE MEMORY including your phone book.

so if i have a t-mobile user call up t-mobile they'll just give me the code?
did you have to feed them some silly story about why it needed to be unlocked?
