I have a razr v3m and my husband has a motorola w315, and I've successfully gotten Motorola Phone Tools to work on my phone, but the data cable for my phone won't recognize his, in fact, in the manual connection there is no listing for his phone model on the drop-down list. Do I have to have a different data cable for his phone, or is there a way I can make it work with mine? I thought since they were both Motorola's that it wouldn't matter. Thanks!

Nope, it should work fine, but if the phone is too new, it won't be on the list.

I use an older version of MPT than the V3xx, but it ran the Live Update and the updated version worked with the V3xx. Have you updated MPT? Otherwise, it should work. It's not the cable at issue, it's the software not recognizing the phone. Also, did you make a new profile for the w315? It had to install the new phone before it will work.

Good luck,
Geri O
