This new Nokia 7088 is yet to be released in Australia but it is due in the 2nd quarter of the year. This is all new to me but what I am asking is ,what is involved with activating this phone to work on the New Zealand CDMA Network. At the moment the only phones available for use on the network must be purchased from Telecom NZ. Is the software and locking of the phone done by the network operator?. Is what I'm trying to achieve possible or am I dreaming. Thanks for your advice, cheers Phil.

What has to happen is the original CDMA carrier of the phone has to release the ESN#. If they do this, the CDMA carrier that you want to use has to agree to put it in there database. I've heard maybe 2 people out of hundreds that I know of having success on both sides and they had to sign a 2 year contract to do it.

Is there not a "Hack" or method of recoding the phone to operate on a different carrier. I promise this will be the last question I have on this, thanks again for your response.

"Hacks" went away 5 years ago. I prefer GSM phones in which you can swap phones anytime you want. CDMA is not my specialty, however what I told you is true, I know that much
