hey.
i got this new motorola k1m and i didn't get a cable for it however i found one that fits so i used it and did all the steps. i installed the driver and the sync music fix and installed windows media player 11. and the pc said that it's done but nothing happened i click on (my computer) i thought i was supposed to see a new driver but there was nothing.
plus, looking at my cell phone when it is connected to the pc it is CHARGING!
please tell me if i've done something wrong and if not.
how can i transfer music to the cell phone.
Thanks.

Ensure that you're in mass storage mode
Menu>Settings>Connections>USB>Default Connection>Mass Storage.

Im actually having the same issue. Under Connections it only has "bluetooth" and "Incoming Calls" nothing about USB or anything.
Mine is a KRZR Telus Phone from Alberta. If i had the USB option it would probably fix my connection issue as well. I feel your pain

Ok i have sprint branded KRZR and an "unlock" Krzr. apparently sprint decided to block out the usb mass storage feature on the phone. so that means on the unbranded model K1 you can drag and drop files via usb.
However on the sprint branded one or the K1m you cannot. each company decides how they want the menu to look. well so i took micro chip and formated it in the phone by going to Security/format chip. then once the micro sd is formatted you have to launch the music player once and hit all music. this causes the phone to make a file called "music"
you then have to get a card reader so you directly connect the chip to the pc. no motorola wont let you use songs whos title are longer than 49 charectors are have more than 1 period in them. In fact i was able to get my chip to sync with windows media player 11. but found out that there was only 50% of the files were playable on the phone. by process of illimination i found that files i cut and pasted into the music folder.
like "MUSIC/the file name" put if i put folders inside the music folder like
"music/red hot chili peppers/greatest hits/under the bridge" it would not work if more than 2 songs were in a folder. to make a long store short after 6 hours i figured out that if you put the mp3's directly into the music folder wothout any organizational folrs they work 100%. Sprint doesnt put a cable in the box for a reason, no i have head that there is a software called moto tools that works but i dont have it. so cut and paste in windows explorer the old fashion way!
