On my w810i, when I talk the backlight stays lit. It drains battery life like crazy and I want a way to hack or mod it to instead of dimming, just turn off completely.
I called SE customer support and they gave me an answer somewhere along the lines of "Deal with it, F***er."
Any suggestions?

Are you serious? I can't believe they would tell you that. Check out my previous post on how to take card of that. You simply press down once during a call and wait a few seconds. Man, i should be working for them!

that's so simple, yet it does exactly what I asked. Thanks a lot! 
I'd still like to see that fixed somehow in some kind of firmware update or something. It's not exactly a feature everyone likes on their phone.
