Which emulator did you use? I have had no luck with M3Gate. I don't believe it can emulate Java apps.

Why an emulator? Why not the actual J2ME environment itself from Sun Microsystems? If you were to download the CLDC and MIDP from the Sun J2ME website, you should be able to run the midlet.
Probably best to go with the CLDC v1.0.3 and MIDP v1.0.3 since the 6610 is supposed to be CLDC 1.0/MIDP 1.0 compliant.

Try the following the website: colinfahey.com
Under there goto 2002 December 14th: Colin Fahey's J2ME Cell Phone Development
This webpage outlines a guy's experience with the CLDC and MIDP stuff, installing it on his PC, developing an application, and running it. You might find this guy's page helpful, in terms of using the J2ME stuff on your PC.

Since i'm a nice guy i wasted my precious time registering on this forum just to post this answer for you, hope it helps.
Ok, so you have a lot of Java Games for your Nokia and want to test them in your PC before uploading'em to your mobile phone. It's a great idea, it will save you a lot of time and here's what you need: Midp2Exe. Midp2Exe is an application that converts JAR files to Windows EXE, so you can run the game in Windows and test it.
APPLICATION NAME: "Midp To Exe" - Midp2Exe
GET IT HERE:

Have fun.
