It is the second sticker, none of the LDI's have VOID on them. It will either be white, or orange/red. All of the phones from T-mobile are covered by a manufacturer's warranty. If it is a defect it gets replaced. If the product was damaged (I.E. dropped too many times, fell in a puddle, left in a car overnight when it was below freezing etc.). Electronics are covered under warranties from the manufacturer and the sales point replaces them. However, if you are not responsable with your equiptment you pay for a replacement. It is not recomended you shower with your phone it "can" damage and corrode the internal parts of a cell phone. Also, liquid damage is NOT allways determined by the LDI, the phone will be taken appart and if it is found that water is behind the screen, then Out of Warranty charges will apply.

My name is Susannah and I am a journalist. I am working on a story about these moisture indicator strips, now found in most cell phones. I'm trying to access how accurate these strips are -- and if there are false positives.
If anyone has had any serious problems with these moisture indicator strips (ie not getting a warranty back because of "water damage" when the phone has never come in contact with water) on any cell phone model, I would love to speak with you, especially if you live in or around NY.
Please write me back -- the sooner the better -- at my yahoo address -- postsusannah (they won't let me type my email in).
Thank you,
Susannah

Well, what I can say is that I work for T-Mobile and handle these types of situations all day. First, the void on the sticker does void the warranty, because not all stickers are the same. Some are round and the size of an eraser, some are square and turn solid red and some are square and say void. Its based off the manufacturer. When you take it into the bathroom it can ruin a phone, because I have been in that situation. Now, onto the subject of you saying that it is the responsibility of the company selling the product, well hello, who do you think sells it to tmobile? Samsung, Motorola, Nokia etc. Be happy that T-Mobile handles the replacements, because if the manufacture were to handle them then you would have to send in your phone(also pay for shipping there and back) and then you are without a phone until they send you another one. The 100 fee comes from the manufacturer. Also, why should we replace a phone for free when there is water damage and can no longer be used. If you were having so many problems then obviously they must have fixed them when you called in or else they would have sent you out a phone. You have no idea how many phones we replace. I do between 1-5 a day, and most of the time people are either lieing or they are just being stupid and cant figure out how to use the phone. There is not one phone out there without some sort of problem and that is because they are massed produced and that happens with electronics.
