i have the cingular 3125 smartphone by htc. anyways i would like to assign different songs i already have on the phone to a few contacts. is this possible? could someone refer me in the direction i need to go to get this done?

Look for "caller groups" in the manual, you can assign ringtones to them and add contacts to that group.

i figured it out. if you go to the smartphones/pda forum then look for thread named "song assigned to contact (HTC 3125) that is the thread with the resolution

or you could have just unrapped the instruction manual  and. read it new concept i know but it works

first of all the users manual isn't even a book, its on the activesync disk. second of all i've been through the disk from start to finish, its very vague. get your facts strait before you leave what you think to be a smart-ass comment whicih really just shows your stupidity.
oh and by the way, there are no "caller groups" in the users guide/manual
