Ok i sold my n80 on ebay its locked to o2. The guy thats bought it from me claims the phone wont work and comes up with sim rejected. Ive suggested he makes sure hes usng o2 sim thats not blocked etc and to contact o2 all of which he claims to have done, he reckons that o2 apparently told him it could be a software problem. This is something ive dont think ive hered of and to me it seems more of a sim problem than the actual phone itself, please someone give me reassurance as paypal are temporarily holding the funds from the sale

Sounds like it does have a SIM lock, not only a network lock.
Not much that can be done.

Hmm, than it's not a SIM lock, maybe a network lock. But still it should work with any o2 SIM.
If it is a software problem, he should do a firmware update (even if he flashes the same one onto the phone) and try again.
Otherwise I would say it's his SIM.
It's hard to analyze that stuff remotely.
