I received the Motorola SYN1301 stereo Headset I snagged off ebay today. Plugged them into my v3xx and I can't beleive how awful the sound quality is. I don't know if the headset is defective or the phone just has crappy mp3 capabilities. Also, even with the volume on 1 it's seem on the loud side.
Anyone else experience this with their v3xx or headset?
thanks

90% of the time the headphones are fake, buy it direct from moto, or buy a 3.5 mm adapter from motorola.com I've gotten a counterfeit headset before, the symptoms are the same as you described.

I have noticed this also. I purchased my moto headphones and they aren't that good. I used the 3.5 mm jack deal it sounds better. The player is not that loud it seems. I don't know what the deal is.

I also ran into the mp3 issue. I got a cheap 3.5mm adapter off eBay to use with my earbuds and the thing was garbage. I bought another one, this time Motorola OEM, and the quality difference blew me away. Sounds absolutely phenomenal. Granted, I have a great pair of earbuds that I'm using, but know that the potential is most definitely there. If you're dead-set on the BT route, the Blueant X5 is the best out there right now, with the Jabra 620 following in second.

Ebay adapters= cheap and straight. Cingular/whatever/moto are about $20 and have an amp. Don't buy extra hardware off ebay lol, only phones.

I guess you should buy at Motorola directly.
