At my center we are forced to work overtime. I don't think this is a good idea. I know after about a year and a half of this I'm burnt out. It's hard to put on this phony persona all day long. It's also hard to know that your every word, every nuance is being judged. Do the rest of you have to work ot? If so for whom? I work for an outsourcer for T-Mobile.

I wish our call center did.
I sure could use the extra cash.
We have unlimited OT, but only if it's avail - and it gets snatched up pretty quick too.

not forced, and we haven't had overtime posted in data support, but if you get stuck on a call, you get overtime. our calls can take a couple hours sometimes, with installing/reinstalling programs, downloading software etc. so sometimes we get caught.

So steva11, what happens if nature calls during one of those long calls?

Hallelujah to that! I have never had a job that I hated this much! It's not bad enough that you have customers bitching at you all day, then you get rated on every word that you say. God forbid you don't show empathy or recognize tenure. I have less problems with helping an upset customer than I do with all the cheesy crap they make us say.
