One phone should not make the decision.
Helio might have cool looking phones (heck, even I want one), but I would stick with your current phone company.or come back to at&t

I looked at the Helio plans and I thought it was pretty good. I'm worried that there might be a catch. I'm having trouble trying to find the Helio Ocean to play with and to see whether the phone lives up to its expectations.

i used to be a vzw customer and moved to helio. i have to say so far, i have no problems with them. reception has not been a problem so far. i live in the los angeles county area in california. network is fast and i love the phone. i love how you can text internationally all for free which is included in their monthly plan. yea, i know. people bitch and moan about how expensive helio is, but if you're like me and use the web and txt messaging a lot, it's not that expensive. i'm paying about 90 bux a month for their service (i have their 1000 mins plan for 85 bux), which may seem like a lot. but i do EVERYTHING on it. well not EVERYTHING. but close to it. i was paying a lot more on verizons for their txt, web, and various other features that didnt come with the phone. so, if you need all that in one nice package, i'd say go with helio. i cant say about reception if you live in rural areas.

btw, helio works on sprints network.

but overall, if you're looking for good reception, i'd say stick with vzw. cuz seriously, there's no other carrier with good a reception as vzw. and they've been rolling out with a lot of nice new phones lately.

good luck

I think I'm still keeping my Cingular even though I'm seriously considering the Helio. I know a lot of people with Cingular but I pay a lot for internet as well as texting.

same with me, only vzw. and we may have good service, but not everywere.lol and i do text alot, and using the net for unlimit. would be a good deal. I plan to get the starter level 65 bux for the plan. But i still have to muster up the 400 all together, once phone is bought, plus activation.blah balh. i know that may be the only 'catch' at first, then you pay the reg. I seen a FYE who sells them but i didnt ask to see the ocean, i juss asked if they had it. I did not think she would let me use it or look anyways. i almost skip'd them cause i never thought they would have it, GAMESTOP and EBGAMES neither had it, good thing i looked there. I plan to move if vrzw dont have anything good by the time my plan up. BTW The Ocean is better than any phone on vrzw. but word is we may get the z8 slider. so thats a whole other story.

Yah. gamestop and ebgames never has it. The FYE's here only carry heat and drift not the ocean BUT I think there was one in circuit city. I did the whole store finding thing on helio.com but it didnt have circuit city so sometimes I wonder about that. I'm a little worried about the 500 minutes for $65 because I know I use over that especially since Cingular claims that I've used 4,000 minutes. *gag* But that could be a possibility. I'm not sure if I'll like having two phones. Yah. I would move out of Cingular too unless a phone that I like comes up.
