Why is alot of people hating on Cingular? Is it the service?
well lets go over my 4 year experience with them
I started out with a moto t720 the phone was good service was good A+
Next I got an LG C1300 the fone was crap cuz of no mp3 support but again good service. C--
After that I got a razr! it rulled till i got bored of no music on fone A-
Then I got a Samsung D807 I loved it to death it rulled and good service! A++++++
Now I got an unlocked RIZR I LOVE IT SOO MUCHH! AND I GOT IT LESS THAN A WEEK AGO
outa all these fones i estimate under less than 10 dropped calls. Service is wonderful and signal stregnth is good expect in 1 area of my town
(the jcpenny @ the mall i got dead 0 signal there lol!)
So I give Cingular a 97%
Altough im prepaid (my parents dont trust me with a fone under contract)
I have A+ service
so plz tell me ur story of ur Cingular nightmare and why

Oh, please, God, no.
Just scroll down the list of posts here and you'll have more than you can read. Then read down the lists of the other carriers, too. You'll quickly find that there is hardly a dime's worth of difference between any of them, if you're at all objective. It's gonna be something with all of them by someone. In my opinion and after using cellphones for over 15 years, they've all gotten better, but they all still pretty much suck. The reasons that they all suck are as much our fault as theirs. We'd rather have cutesy-pie phones that take bad pictures and play terrible-sounding music than insist on and be willing to pay for phones that have better talk quality, better and more consistent reception and better battery life. And, of course, the carriers have to pander to the investors and pay less and less attention to the engineers and designers. Much like any other business of any size in the 21st century.
So what else do you wanna know?

I get at least one dropped call per day.
I make anywhere from 2-4 calls per day.
That's a high ratio.

is your phone powered on 24/7?
if so turn it off at least once a day for about 30 seconds. that should improve things greatly

I make and receive 20 to 30 calls a day. Dropped calls vary from none to one or two a day, and pay attention closely to this next part....It depends on what part of the country I'm in. Not a bad ratio. And although I put a lot of faith in Malibu's knowledge, I power down and back up my phone once a week, if I remember it (I know, I should power it down once a day).
There's so many variables as to why a call is dropped or not, if you want to chase one carrier after another over dropped calls, hey, it's your life to waste.

Yeah, I get people who had their phone for two years and never turn it off and they call me asking why their phone isn't working.
But yeah, dropped call thing all depends where you live, how many people have cell phones, how many towers, what type of building, somtimes the weather. etc etc etc ya ya ya ya ya

Thanks for the acknowlagement, but yea I really only power down my phone once every week or so, usually after some light modding.
