Okay, I have read tons of forums about unlocking a Sidekick II, and haven't come to a final conclusion. My friend is giving me her phone, but I have cingular. I understand through reading that I can only use voice and SMS (text) which is fine because that's all I intend to use it for. Now when you put in the sim card it asks for the secret code. Is their any way to unlock the Sidekick II for this use. I've searched everywhere without any answer, help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It CAN be unlocked, but not with a code.

At one point in time t-mobile would unlock the sidekick II, but at this current time it can not be done. Also note that the operating system is tied to the carrier, so even if you did have an unlock, none of the data features would work outside of the carrier the phone was designed for.

Yea, I know the data would not work, but how about text and voice? That is all I need hehe. And also what is the way to unlock it without the code? Do you guys think the ebay methods work? Because when I read their feedback, the buyer says it worked. Eh, what to do.

Thanks.

I wouldn't try anything like that. It can't be done.

Okay, I guess the consensus decision is that the Sidekick II CANNOT be unlocked. Not even the voice and SMS. I am assuming though, that the unlocked ones on ebay do work, because that is what they claim.
