Recently my phone decided to die. Now on powerup it displays the Boot Loader screen. Is it possible to re-flash the phone and get it all the old software back?

My thanks.

Do you know what kind of phone you have? If you power down the phone and take out the battery, the model number is on the inside of the case.

It is important to look because even phones that look alike may be different releases. The Motorola RAZR V3 is a good example (there is the V3i, V3t, V3r, V3c, V3x, V3m, V3im, V3xx!).

Respectfully,

Just says:

V3(G89/18/19)
S/W:0E.40.9CR

I got in Sept '05, so I'm assuming it's one of the original V3 models.

Thanks.

You're in luck! With a RAZR, you should be able to flash the firmware and restore it to normal operation. I've done it many times (I like to tweak settings. . . which sometimes means I break things).

Rather than give detailed directions on what you need to do, I think its best that you go to the Motomodders RAZR V3 forum and ask for help.

The long and short of what you need to do:

Download & install the drivers for your RAZR
Plug your RAZR into your computer (a USB-to-miniUSB cable will do nicely)
Using RSD Lite (not available to the public) or some other software, re-flash your phone with the latest firmware or flex.

Post this same thread to Motomodders - with your S/W version in the thread (its under Settings, Phone Status, Other Information, S/W Version). They have all the resources you need, good folks to guide you along and great advice on problems you might encounter.

Respectfully,
Jacob M.
