Hey wassup everyone I just signed up here and it seems to be a nice place so far. Anyways, this question has probably been asked before but I'll try.
So.yesterday i found a sidekick 3, and i gave it to my friend to tinker around with and he threw out the SIM card and deleted everything that was on it. so basically its a blank Sidekick 3.
My question is, will I be able to use it? I mean, I'm planning on going to the store and buying a prepaid SIM card for about 40 dollars, and just use that, but my friend says that once I insert the SIM, it will ask for a username and password, information I do not have.
If I call customer service, will I be able to retrieve this password? Will they ask me for information (name, etc)?
also, there actually is a username on it. its like xxxxx_xxxxx1 (replace x with the guys name)
And, my friend took his sidekick 2 sim card and put it in this one, and the username password screen showed up. he couldn't do anything from there, so when i purchase this new SIM card wat can I do about it?

Customer care has to take that sidekick out of their system so that you would be able to create a user name for it. If the phone was reported lost or stolen, customer care will not be able to change it for you.

OMG your so lucky.I heard T-Mobile doesnt blacklist lost/stolen sk3s. So say you got it off ebay or someone gave it to you (that'll take away the blame from you) and then get it activated. One time I found a sidekick 3 but the kid came back for it.and I wasn't gonna lie or hide it either.omg I want a sk3 sooo bad.

lol I found a sidekick 3 with that special edition d-wade one. it was a purposely lost fone cuz it had no simcard in it but it looked brand spankin new and it had no sctracthz watsover. The fone looks really nice im thiknig of buying a prepaid sim off ebay to use it cuz it looks alot hotter than my rizr lol and i just got my rizr 3 weeks ago.!

ok so i purchased a a pre paid card and put it in. i caleld customer service and all that and they kept asking me for these numbers i didnt have. i talked to this one guy and he said that i could apply for the dollar a day plan, which I did, and had to wait a couple of hours to get it to work. couple hours pass and i turn it on. it says to either sign in or register.
i register all my information, and it says taht there is a pre-existing account on it ( the xxxx_xxxxx1) and that i needed to input the password. i called customer service and they once again confused me. they said i needed the phone number (again, i tried to check for it, but it said not available).
so, anyone know how i can find out this number? i just wanna get rid of this pre-existing account, but calling customer service has me confused.

You need to give them the imei number. Its located underneath the battery.
