I've been with Sprint for years. I just upgraded and went w. young salesgirl's suggestion, Katina. I like everything except I can't hear what's being said ALL THE TIME and constantly being asked "what, are you there" I have 10 more days to exchange. All I need is caller ID,date, time on outside an alarm clock, as long of talk time as possible. I do like larger buttons and blue are easier for me to see. But, sound level is the big concern! It also needs to fit into the pocket of my purse. I'm thinking that I need one with speakers on the inside not on the back? I just turned 50 and going thru chemo but my old Samsung didn't have this issue and my signal was much better. Thanks for any advice.I need to get this resolved by end of month when I move to Indianapolis from Texas for my husband's job. By the way does anyone know how reception is there? His work is Nextel and he got a hybrid phone and is doing great traveling in 5 States. Can I get a hybrid with a personal acct. salesgirl said "no" but, the whole time she was laughing @conversation from her headset! Thanks again for ANY suggestions!

Well all phones pretty much fit what you need, so i'd probably go with a samsung or sanyo. maybe even an LG, they tend to be a bit cheaper but if you don't want loads o' features they do just fine.

Of the slimmer phones, Sanyo is one of the best, although it costs near as much as the others with far less features. If sound is an issue, Nextel phones are always louder, and with Sprint and Nextel FINALLY using the same billing system, it should be possible to use one if you wish. A Hybrid/Powersource however would not be the best choice. Unlike what some salespeople may tell you, it does not work everywhere a Sprint phone works, nor does it work off of whichever signal is strongest. It works off of Sprint native towers for the phone (none of its roaming partners) and Nextel towers for the DirectConnect. Also it is not common for Motorola phones to include alarm clocks. Make sure whomever you speak to can show you the alarm feature before making a purchase.
