send a .wav or .mp3 file to your phone as a pix message. Just email your phone with the file as an attachment and you will have the option to save it as a ring tone.
to email your phone as a pix message send an email to your phone's number (including area code) at VZWPIX dot COM. (sorry, this site won't let me post if I put the address properly, you can figure it out though :p)
ring tone ends after 30 seconds so cut down the file to 30 seconds or less before you send it to avoid filling up your phone's memory.

I can't save my sounds as ringtones, only as sound from any type of pix message, even if i send it to myself. i haven't tried the memory card thing yet because i dont have a usb adapter for my memory card. any other ideas on how to get ringtones?

You have to convert them to .mid files instead of mp3s, then send them to your phone. First, edit the clip down to 30 seconds, then save as an mp3 file. Then, rename the file from xxxx.mp3 to xxxx.mid In order to do this in windows xp, you have to right click My Computer, then click Tools > Folder Options > View. Uncheck the box that says "Hide extensions for known file types". Now you can change the file name. After you have it renamed to a .mid file, then email it to your phone and you will be able to save it as a ringtone

Whenever i try to e-mail the .mid file (158kb in size) over to my enV via attaching the file and sending it to my vzwpix dot com address, I get the message back saying it's Undeliverable. Anyone else having this issue?

Does your enV have updated software? Settings and tools, to the phone info, and SW version. It should be T99VZV04. I just usually recommend checking that to be sure that much is updated. Have you tried sending the files to your phone in any other formats?
