I don't know where else to put this, so I'll put it here.
Well here's my problem, at random times, my phone will take (on average) 15 to 20 minutes to send a text message. It'll do this for several hours, then randomly stop. When it does it this, it basically chooses random people that I text, for example, I could be texting someone, the delay starts, but I'll be able to text someone else and the text gets there right away.
Today is the worst it has been though. It's been doing it since 11 AM without letting up. The people that it chooses most are the 2 people I text most. They're from Iowa and Texas, I'm from Michigan. I don't know what's causing this. It started back in April and has been slowly getting worse. I have a Motorola V265 from Alltel. I'm not sure what the people I text have. I've brought my phone into Alltel and they said that they can't find anything wrong with it. I really don't get what's wrong. If anyone has any idea what would be wrong, please let me know.

delayed text is an annoyance but it does happen. really nothing can be done until the log-jam clears it happens at cingular as well from time to time. I would well imagine all carriers are the the same in that respect.
basically the text messaging became too popular too fast it has overloaded the servers before the providers have been able to add more or re route traffic to take up the load.
several years ago when the old att came out with long distance included in off peak minutes there were so many people that were waiting for 8pm to make their long distance calls it threw the hlr/vlr in NYC off line a few times. same thing with text.

I have Alltel as well, and while my texts get through quite quickly usually, my picture messages get take sometimes days to send. I think part of the issue may lie with where the recipient is as well, are they on their own network or on someone elses, or the data speed available in the area.
