i dont get very good service either.but thats becasue my phone was chewed up by a dog and they swallowed the anttenna. but i got a new one and it still doesnt work very well and I also want to cancel my contract but they want me to pay the termination fee. I dont see anyway around it except to wait for your contract to end.

dude seriously that has got to be the dumbest thing i have read on here in weeks , i actualy think you gave me cancer, so your mad because YOU left you phone laying around and a dog chewed it up, (YOUR OWN FAULT) and now you want to cancel service becasue YOU were too cheap to get insurance, and you mad because Cingular wont let YOU out of a CONTRACT YOU SIGNED, yea i dont think so

I was with Verizon since the beginning of cellphone time. Never had a problem. Recently switched to Cingular who has ads proclaiming the best coverage. I had switched because of a better plan and rollover minutes. I soo much regret it. 50% of my calls fail, drop or just dont go through. Viseversa on the incomings. I have a family member with a brand new phone on the same plan with me and the same thing happens. I need to get out of Cingular and back to Verizon! Unfortunately I did not have the problem until the 30 days had expired! How do i get out without paying the termination fee. Oh by the way, I don't live in a backwoods somewhere. I live in downtown Boston.

well, if you would like to try and get out of it. you need to call care and let them know that you have no service. however, if you have reception but it doesn't go through they can troubleshoot, but if it is found that there is "No covergae' in you area then they will waive ETF b/c cingular has not held up there part of the contract in providing you service.
Now if you there is reception in your area then you are just out of luck.
Good luck though!

this sounds "towerish". Boston os comoing back with 100% coverage UMTS and GSM (2.5 and 3g) call customer care 18003310500 from a land phone in the effected area they will check your phone and known issues . this is the BEST way to start.

Probably a tower out yup
I always check the MTI map tool when a customer comes up with a coverage problem
