For a while now i have been checking up on the cingular online store and it has been telling me that I am eligible for equipment upgrade and I even went to the store put my phone number, zip code, even my address and last 4 digits of my social and it told me that I was eligible. It even printed out a little slip that says "You are eligible for an upgrade! please check in stand and a rep will be with you shortly. Be sure to try out our cool phone.Upgrade Eligible Date: 5/30/07"
Now when I check online it says the upgrade date is 12/7/2007 and I can't do it anymore. I kept calling them but they do not seem to know what I am talking about, they cant help me. I even asked them if there have been an upgrades to my line and they said no. I just want to know what is going on, I mean I remember checking online numerous times looking at phones and I remember it saying I was eligible, I even have the paper with their logo that says my number, my fist and last name, and its telling me i am eligible.

Sounds like you have a past due balance, once you pay it you should be eligible again.

There is an issue with checking upgrade eligibility right now. typically in the over the phone order system it will show you eligible, but no where else. If you want to order right now, you will have to talk to someone to override it for you or order over the phone.

because you are always "eligable " to upgrade its when you can get a dicount that cs and the olane account says yea or nay

You can always upgrade. You just don't always get a discount.

Having the same problem actually when trying to order a new V3xx. (No past due accounts.)
I called CS and they said it was an error in their billing system. I was indeed eligible for a "discount upgrade" and that they would put the order through over the phone for the same rate I would've gotten online.
Oh, and now Cingular / ATT Wireless website is down for maintenance. Sounds like an overall computer problem.
Just call CS and ask about your reappearing/disappearing eligibility, and just keep calling until you get a CSR that knows how to deal with it.
