This feature doesn't work in "ANY" 5300. Verizon says it's a software issue and they all do it. How can I get them to upgrade their software?

I have an LG VX5300. When someone calls and leaves a voice mail and I open the flip it shows a screen that says "Listen Now". If you hit the "OK" button it's SUPPOSED to playback the VM, but it doesn't. However, this feature works fine on other model LG's. Verizon says it's a software issue on the 5300"s.none of them work. I'm going back and forth with VZ and LG to get them to do a software upgrade.who should I talk to get some results.they're both jerking me around?

Oh I see. well I have good news and bad news. The good news is this, this isn't happening on ALL vx5300s because I have NEVER heard this problem before. I read reviews and deal with phones all day. It's not widespread.
The bad news is, I can't walk you right through it because I don't have this model with me this weekend. Check your contacts, go down to voicemail and see what is programmed there. *86? you Mobile number? either of those is great.
Now also pull up your MESSAGES category in your main menu, you'll see SETTINGS in the bottom section of the screen above the softkeys. go to ALL MSGS. Inside this menu is your VOICEMAIL #. Here you can input *86, put a couple of pauses (they're at bottom of screen too, right softkey i believe) in there and then input your pass word too.
This way your pw is inputted for you each time without you having to pull phone away from ear and input them while you're driving or carrying lots of shopping bags.
But if you've taken the phone to both VZW and LG then I imagine that someone has already checked this for you. So hence, more bad news. surely your fix won't be this easy. But once you've checked these, power cycle the phone and try again.
Hope this helps, otherwise clearing the screen and holding down speed dial 1 isn't SO bad. Still it's frustrating. Keep me posted!

Hi.I appreciate the help. Both items you told me to check are OK. Still have the same problem."Listen Now" does nothing. Verizon told me that the "Chocolate" is their only phone where this feature works.but I know for a fact that my buddy's 5200 works fine on this feature! Any advice? It's not the end of the world, but I'd surely like to have this work. Let me know when you get your hands on a 5300.
