ok so i currently have a Motorola L2 witch i got via the "upgrade" offered from Cingular. the thing is a POS. i always loose reception completely and it says "call failed then hours later i will receive text messages that are hours old without moving the phone.
anyways i am not eligable for the "upgrade" but there are 3 lines on my one plan i can upgrade one of those. I'm getting a sony ericsson w180i. am i going to have a problem activating it? or can i just pop in my sim card and be good to go?
thanks for your help

you should be albe to pop in the sim and go, if not, just call customer service and tell them you got the phone so they can take off the block

technically speaking you can just pop in the sim and your good. it makes life a little easier for the cust care rep if yhe/she knows your model type in case of problem. all the systems needs to know your phone type is your IMEI. press *#06# on your phone and its on the screen.when the device is updated an OTA is sent to the phone. this ensures the network driven features are loaded oin the phone.
